BINDY “contiki love song” REVIEW

Bedroom-pop artist BINDY brings forth her EP ‘dear diary’ for release in April 2023. Featuring two tracks, her dreamy, glitter-infused sound is peppered with ambient guitar, melodic vocals and honest lyrics.

The first track ‘contiki love song’ is inspired by the euphoric rush of falling in love in the beautiful city of Vienna, drawing on real-life experiences and heartfelt lyrics. It describes taking the leap of faith to explore a romantic connection with someone, while wondering whether or not they feel the same way and feeling shy of expressing feelings to the other person. ‘late nights in bristol’ gives a nod to artist PinkPantheress’ heavy influence, telling of a ‘what could have been’ relationship. Combining a moody guitar loop with a reverberating techno synth in the chorus, the song is reminiscent of a late night car ride home, or of the view of Bristol city itself at 3am.

BINDY words about the EP: “I began producing music on Garageband when I was 23 years old. At the time, I was on my gap year in the UK, living in Bristol. During this time of fun and life lessons, a couple of significant events happened to me that, years later, I wrote songs about. After relocating to Melbourne and learning to produce in Logic Pro, these stories found their way out of my head and into the ears of (hopefully!) many listeners around the world. I aim to create glittery, ambient pop music that will make people dance a little, fall in love and replay each song again and again.”

Through her first release of 2023, BINDY seeks to tell honest stories of love, loss, excitement and nostalgia to all those who enter her world.
