Proxoxie is a blogger, taxidermy collector, fan fiction writer, radio host and musician. Prox’s music has been circulating online in Scenecore and Hyperpop since her first single “Benny Can You Feel My Pain” in 2021. Proxoxie, who is originally from Detroit, Michigan, began performing in the Detroit underground scene since 2018 at venues such as the Maidstone Theater and the Shelter.
She debuted in the local Chicago Hyperpop scene in 2021 and has performed alongside artists such as Black Smurf, Swagwitme2k, Hi-C, Keyblade808 and Lil Yawh. Proxoxie has collaborated with artists such Nosgov whowas featured on the single “Lonely Broadcast Station”, Swagwitme2k on the single “mydeathspace”, and Ratrace09210 on songs like “Death Row Romeo” and “Season 9.”
Through aesthetic curation and maximalist expressionism, Proxoxie explores duality between beauty and atrocity. She creates music to maintain a positive and open-minded community.
Proxoxie has been building her brand for over 3 years. She describes this track as “The single which defines the turning point for my new sound”. Proxoxie continues on to describe Irrelevant: “It’s the type of track which can easily get stuck in someone’s head, as I think about the chorus in the most random of settings”. Irrelevant was written over 6 months ago while Proxoxie was sitting in her kitchen “The lyrics had just come to my brain after a major shift in my life. I was desperate to capture them in a clean sounding mix because of how important they were to me.”
