ANTi “Close To You” REVIEW
Inspired by the world-building songcraft and sci-fi synthwave of The Weeknd, paired with a heavy nod to ‘80s radio pop greats Phil Collins and Hall & Oates, ANTi is a maximalist at heart. Today, ANTi is one of the most sought after up and coming producers in Nashville’s pop scene. After the pop prodigy graduated early from an elite music university he logged time as an engineer and one-man session band. Soon after, ANTi relocated south to help redefine what pop meant for Music City. ANTi & SCi-FY, two of the most talented up and coming artist/producers in the music industry, have teamed up to release the first pop banger of the year with their new track, “Close To You.” The collaboration was born out of a chance meeting at a last-minute industry hang, and the result is nothing short of spectacular.

ANTi says about the track: “The song strikes a balance between intimate and epic,”. Adding his take on their production process, SCi-FY says “the first thing we did was pull up a super lush synth patch and started playing around on the melody you hear in the intro. Instantly it felt like we had teleported to another dimension,” noting the instant connection between the two, “We didn’t really even plan to write a song. We just both loved the sound of big synths and great pop songs. It kind of just flowed out. And it came out sounding exactly how I heard it in my head, which is very rare.”’
ANTi & SCi-FY are both known for their unique approaches to music production, and this collaboration is a testament to their individual skills. We wanted to drop the listener into the middle of a movie scene.” The duo’s lyrics drop you straight onto the dance floor where everything is clearer, even in the dark, and a connection to ‘the perfect stranger’ is undeniable. Finally the single can be described as a dynamic and catchy pop song that will have listeners dancing along to the beat while relating to the excitement and uncertainty of new love.
